VirtualApps

On-demand software

Faculty, students and staff have 24/7, on-demand access to a library of popular software from any computer, anywhere in the world with an Internet connection through VirtualApps. Currently, people must visit a particular computer lab during normal hours of operation to use some specific software. While anyone will still be able to visit labs for specific software, VirtualApps allows people with an Elon username to log in to a web-based system to access specialized software. This access gives Elon students, faculty and staff the flexibility of using the software on campus, at home and even while studying abroad.

Our initial efforts in virtualized software include IBM SPSS Statistics, Wolfram Mathematica and AtlasTI. VirtualApps is not platform specific and can be used by both Windows and Mac operating systems.

After installing the browser plug-in, current Elon students, faculty and staff can access VirtualApps at http://www.elon.edu/virtualapps .

VirtualApps is not available to Alumni, retired faculty, retired staff, guest users, public accounts or users with temporary accounts.
