Print Management

Since the implementation of the print management system in February 2006, Elon has seen more than a 70% reduction of printing in the computer labs and library.

  • In 2004-2005, the library and computer labs used more than 10 million sheets of paper.
  • In 2007-2008, the library and computer labs used 2.8 million sheets.
  • In 2008-2009, after the implementation of duplex printing, the library and computer labs used 1.8 million sheets.

The print management system helps us to save resources, reduce waste, and enable faculty, staff, and students to print from any computer on campus to any public lab printer on campus.

To save additional paper, all public printers are defaulted to print duplex (prints on both sides of the paper instead of just 1 side/sheet of paper). Users can still print simplex (1 side/sheet of paper) by selecting the appropriate printer.

Print Management Stations and Xerox stations

Beginning in Summer 2014, Campus Technology Support began upgrading Print Management Stations across campus. These new upgrades allow faculty, staff, and students to print to any PMS across campus using one universal print driver. To download the universal driver for a PMS or Xerox machine, click the appropriate link below.

For instructions on using the upgraded PMS or Xerox machines, please click the appropriate link below.

Wireless Printers

The Elon campus wireless network does allow for wireless printers. Please see our documentation regarding connecting wireless devices to the elonu-connect network. We recommend that you turn wireless printers off when not in use to avoid the possibility of others printing to your device.

Bluetooth Printers

Bluetooth printers do not interfere with the campus wireless network. If you want wireless printing capabilities look into purchasing a bluetooth compatible device.

  • Before purchasing a bluetooth printer, make sure your computer has bluetooth capabilities
Are you a Mac user continuously receiving popup error messages? This is likely due to machine settings that interfere with print management stations on campus. To disable these messages, please follow these instructions.
