How to Use Room: Base Level Operations
  1. Turn on the computer by pressing the power button on the middle of the CPU (located on the right side of the equipment rack).
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  5. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, VGA, DVD, VCR, CD, Doc Cam, and AUX).
    Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  6. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.
  7. To power the desktop computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

1.) Touch Screen Control (Crestron)

Basic Operating Instructions
  1. Touch the screen to turn on the system. The system will take 45 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, VGA, HDMI, DVD, VCR, CD, and Doc Cam).
  3. Press IMAGE MUTE, located on the top left to mute the screen image and adjust the height of the projector screen.
  4. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control.

Desktop Instructions

  1. Tap on the Desktop tab on the touch panel.
  2. Turn on the Desktop computer and login with your Elon username and password.

VGA Instructions

  1. Tap on the VGA button on the touch panel.
  2. Plug in your device using the VGA cord (4) and the audio connection for VGA (5).
  3. Ensure that your device is on.

HDMI Instructions

  1. Tap on the HDMI button on the touch panel.
  2. Plug in your device using the HDMI cord (2).
  3. Ensure that your device is on.

DVD Instructions

  1. The DVD player (JVC) is located in the middle of the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your DVD into the player.
  3. Tap on the DVD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display DVD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the DVD player.

VCR Instructions

  1. The VCR player (JVC) is located in the middle of the cabinet beneath the computer.
  2. Insert your VCR into the player.
  3. Tap on the VCR tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display VCR controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the VCR player.

CD Instructions

  1. The CDs can be played from the Dell CPU located at the top of the equipment rack.
  2. Insert your CD into the player.
  3. Tap on the CD tab on the touch panel.
  4. The touch panel will display CD controller buttons.
  5. Use the buttons displayed to control the CD player.

Document Camera Instructions

  1. Select the "Doc Cam" tab.
  2. Document camera is ready for use.
  3. Adjustments to zoom or lamp use can be made on the touch screen control.

2.) Desktop (Apple)

Basic Operating Instructions
  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button located on the back left side of the computer monitor. 
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. To power the computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

3.) Student Computer (Apple)

Basic Operating Instructions
  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button located on the back left side of the computer monitor. 
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. To power the computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

4.) SMART Board (SMART)

Basic Operating Instructions
  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button on the middle of the CPU (located on the right side of the equipment rack).
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Press the touch screen to power on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to turn on.
  5. To write on the board, select a pen option on the right side of the SMART board.
    1. Pen color can be changed by pressing the colored buttons in front of the eraser.
  6. To erase board writing, either use the eraser or use your hand in a fist shape.
  7. To type information on to the screen, press the keyboard button located to the left of the eraser.
  8. To right click on the screen, press the mouse button located to the right of the eraser.
  9. Turn the system off by pressing the off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

5.) Projector (NEC)

Basic Operating Instructions
  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Use the touch screen control to select the desired input (Desktop, VGA, DVD, VCR, CD, Composite, Doc Cam, and AUX).
    Computer inputs are built into the table top of the work station.
  3. Turn the system off by pressing the System Off button located on the top right side of the touch screen control.

6.) Document Camera (Wolfvision)

Basic Operating Instructions
  1. Touch the touch screen control to turn on the system. The system will take 30 seconds to warm up.
  2. Select Doc Cam on the touch screen control.
  3. Document camera is ready for use.
  4. Adjustments to zoom or lamp use can be made on the touch screen control.
  5. To turn the system off, press the System Off button located on the top right of the touch screen control or select another input to use.

7.) Scanner (Epson)

Basic Operating Instructions
  1. Turn on computer by pressing the power button located on the back left side of the computer monitor. 
  2. Turn on the computer monitor by pressing the power button on the bottom right side of the computer monitor.
  3. Login with your Elon username and password.
  4. Open Finder, and select the User tab, located below Pictures.
  5. Select the scanner by opening the Printer folder, located under Library, in the User tab.
  6. Place document in scanner face down, and press Scan on the program window.
  7. To power the computer off, click the Shut Down button (click the Apple button on the top left of the screen, then select Log Off or Shut Down).

Additional Room Features

  • Installed in the top of the instructor work station is a cable cubby which provides inputs for: 1) Electrical, 2) HDMI, 3) Ethernet, 4) VGA, and 5) Audio for VGA.

  • Located in Mooney 202 is a print station.
