Media Services loans equipment to active faculty, staff and students for projects, class assignments, and academic purposes. Elon Alumni and retired community members do not have checkout priviledges through Media Services.
An advance reservation will assist you in getting the necessary equipment. The recommended procedure for making reservations is through WebCheckout. Other options include stopping by Belk Library 101 or calling (336) 278-6598 during regular office hours.
If equipment is not picked up within an hour of the initial reservation start time, the reservation will be canceled, and the equipment will become available to other patrons. In order to pick-up your reservation, you must have a valid Phoenix Card.
The default loan period for equipment is six (6) hours. When completing your reservation on WebCheckOut, you must comply with Media Services' hours of operation, as well as the rules for default and overnight loan periods.
If a longer period is required, a Media Services' staff member must pre-approve the loan. Please verify your return date is correct in the computer system and your reservation has been entered properly before you complete your transaction. In addition, please keep a copy of your email confirmation for validation of check out and return times in order to avoid late fines. Extended loans are based on availability and will not be approved for non-academic use.
Equipment must be returned on time to avoid late fees. Equipment returned after regular office hours may be returned at the Circulation Desk in Belk Library. If there is a problem with returning the equipment by the scheduled time, please address this issue completing the checkout.

The Media Services' Checkout Center is unable to deliver equipment. However, equipment can be reserved in advance. The equipment must be picked up and returned to the Media Services' Checkout Center.
Media Services offers training documentation on select equipment. Any equipment listed in this section requires authorization prior to checkout. Please follow these steps to complete equipment training.
1.) Visit our Moodle site and enroll in our course (Media Services Equipment Training).
2.) Read the documentation and take the corresponding competency test. You will be asked to sign an agreement pertaining to equipment use.
3.) Prior to your desired check out date, set up a time for a face-to-face consultation with a Media Services' technician to review equipment handling. Contact Jenn Grimmett at 278-6591 or by email at email@example.com.
Media Services offers CD to CD and DVD to DVD duplication for academic-related materials that are not copyrighted. We also offer self-service checkout equipment for media transfer of VHS to DVD. These services are available to faculty, staff, and students. To take advantage of duplication services, please submit materials or checkout equipment during business hours.
Media Services charges for materials; we do not charge for labor.

Media Services now defers lamination requests to Elon’s Print Services. This transition will provide our community with a better quality product and will better align with the university's sustainability initiatives.
· Print Services offers a fantastic alternative to traditional lamination methods, called "permanent paper." This solution offers the benefit to clients of centralizing printing and lamination into one process. Additionally, the material used for this process is waterproof and biodegradable.
o Faculty and staff can use the Print Services' Digital Storefront to submit an order, email the order, or take the order to Print Services on a flash drive. Faculty and staff have the option to pay by departmental account number, Phoenix Cash, personal check, or cash.

· Print Services also offers a traditional lamination solution, for those who may have stand-alone lamination needs.
