Media Services loans equipment to faculty, staff and students for projects, class assignments, and academic purposes.
An advance reservation will assist you in getting the necessary equipment. The recommended procedure for making reservations is through WebCheckout. Other options include stopping by Belk Library 101 or calling (336) 278-6598 during regular office hours.
If equipment is not picked up within an hour of the initial reservation start time, the reservation will be canceled, and the equipment will become available to other patrons. In order to pick-up your reservation, you must have a valid Phoenix Card.
The default loan period for equipment is six (6) hours, with the exception of PC Laptops, which are available for 24 hour loan. When completing your reservation on WebCheckOut, you must comply with Media Services' hours of operation, as well as the rules for default and overnight loan periods.
If a longer period is required, a Media Services' staff member must pre-approve the loan. Please verify your return date is correct in the computer system and your reservation has been entered properly before you complete your transaction. In addition, please keep a copy of your email confirmation for validation of check out and return times in order to avoid late fines. Extended loans are based on availability and will not be approved for non-academic use.
Equipment must be returned on time to avoid late fees. Equipment returned after regular office hours may be returned at the Circulation Desk in Belk Library. If there is a problem with returning the equipment by the scheduled time, please address this issue completing the checkout.
Media Services is unable to deliver equipment. However, equipment can be reserved in advance. The equipment must be picked up and returned to the Media Services' office.
