Account Information for Elon University Students

Elon University students are provided with three accounts:

  1. Elon Account - Email, Moodle, campus computers, the wireless network, etc.
  2. OnTrack Account - Access course schedules, rosters, pay stubs and history, and more.
  3. E-Bill Account - Access tuition account status, e-bills, and recent payments/credits.

Your Elon and OnTrack accounts will always have the same user names. Initially, the passwords for these accounts will be the same. However, your Elon Account password and OnTrack password are managed separately. To learn more about managing your account, click one of the links below.

Obtaining your account information

Students will receive their OnTrack username and password shortly after being admitted to Elon University. Students may locate their Email username and password within OnTrack 48 hours after the enrollment deposit has been paid. Log into OnTrack and locate the link for 'Elon University Account Information.' 

After obtaining your account information, we strongly recommend that you enroll in the password management site located hereBy doing so, you will be granted immediate access to change and reset your Elon Account password.

Managing your accounts

  • You must first enroll in the Self-Service Password Maintenance Site before you are able to personally change your account password. If you are locked out of your account before enrolling in this site, you must contact the Technology Service Desk at 278-5200.

  • ID is the 7-digit University ID number assigned to you. To locate this number click here.
  • PIN is the initial password you received for both your OnTrack and Elon Account. If you cannot locate this password, contact the Technology Service Desk (see below for contact information).

Note: The Elon Account and OnTrack account are managed independently. Therefore, updating your password for either will not affect the other.

Contact the Technology Service Desk if you require assistance managing any of your online accounts. For your security, the Service Desk communicates account-related information either in person or by phone (336-278-5200). The location is 114 W. Lebanon Avenue, parallel to the train tracks, and beside Subway.

Campus Technologies will never ask you for your password in an email.
If you receive an email message asking you to verify account information or to take action to avoid loss of email service, delete the email. These messages are merely an attempt to lure you into revealing personal information to identity thieves. NEVER respond to messages asking you for your email password or email your password to anyone! Any legitimate communication from Information Technology regarding email accounts will be delivered through multiple channels including E-Net and campus mail. All legitimate messages will also include a campus telephone number (usually 278-5200) that you may call to verify the authenticity of the message.
